During this plants and sky-themed day at Los Luceros Historic Site, you’ll enjoy a tour of their grounds, participate in hands-on activities, and make arts and crafts. You’ll get an in-depth look at the Los Luceros gardens and orchards (9 to 11 AM for the plants portion of the event). As the day turns to evening, Los Luceros will stay open LATE to host a star viewing party (6 to 8:30 for the sky event). Lots of options for perfect Sunday outings for you and your family!
Schedule of events:
7:00 AM – Los Luceros opens early for Dawn to Dusk Day. Take a nice walk on the property in the early morning and enjoy the crisp fall temperatures!
9:00 to 11:00 AM – PLANTS – More info coming soon as the fall harvest season progresses!
2:30 to 3:30 PM – Ranger-led tour of the Los Luceros historic district, with a special focus on the plants growing at the site.
7:30 PM – Los Luceros trails close to the public, but the main site will stay OPEN LATE for night sky viewing.
6:00 to 8:30 PM – SKY – Take a look through a telescope at at the first-quarter moon, both Saturn and Jupiter, and some of the brighter stars in the evening sky. As it gets darker, astronomy experts will point out constellations, double stars, and deep-sky objects like nebulae, clusters, and especially the Andromeda galaxy.
