Five year old Millie Darlington was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held by the tunnel near the traffic circle between North Mesa and Barranca Mesa with a 15 second differential off her predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: Tony Borek at 19 seconds off; Mark Bjorklund with a 20 second difference; David Kunsberg recording 24 seconds off; and Ted Atkins, Senior with a 30 second differential.
Felix Candia was the top finisher in the 1 mile course at 10:59 and Katie Gattiker was the first female recording a 11:39.
In the 3 mile distance Jan Velechovsky was the first finisher with a time of 26:42 and Lynn Bjorklund was the best female at 28:08.
Next week’s race will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 6:00 PM on the Water Canyon Trail which is located 2.7 miles on the left from the junction of State Route # 4 and Pajarito Road and headed West on State Route # 4 towards Bandelier National Monument. 1 and 3 mile trail runs will be available.
